PostSubject: Suggestions for the band...   Sun Sep 02, 2007 5:58 pm

Hey guys, my name is Frank and I got your myspace bulletin about suggestions so I thought I would make a few.

We've seen you a few times now and one thing I think you would benefit from is some choreography. I understand that it is very "rock 'n' roll" to do your own thing on stage, but maybe some kind of synchronised stage routine would work, like in the blues brothers etc. Maybe the lead guitarist and base (is that how you spell it?) player could wear face makeup like the character "Two Face" from Batman (played by Tommy Lee Jones in the film). To make it interesting, their faces could be painted in the opposite colour scheme to each other, presenting a kind of visual symmetry for the audience. You could even toss a coin to decide the next song. (just a suggestion).

I understand that several of your band members and your entourage own motorcycles. This could be an interesting addition to the show. Perhaps the lead singer could enter the Hotel California (or potential other venue) on his motorbike from the back and part the crowd to enter the stage at the start of the gig (if a unicycle is unavailable of course). I notice he wears one of those Britney Spears style microphones, so he could even sing whilst riding around the dancefloor - offering rides to members of the crowd. This could also provide an additional source of income for the band if you introduced a fee.

So many ideas are running through my head right now and we haven't even discussed the issue of costume. I think it is important to present a united front as a band. The Beatles did it, so did the Bay City Rollers and I think you guys should move with the times. You could even orientate your costumes around a theme, for example on St. Georges day. You can all dress up in red and even have the drummer dress as the dragon, that way you can re-inact the story of St. George in between your first and second set providing entertainment and a message. You could do the same on St. David's day as long as he doesn't mind dressing up as a leek.

I hope you will have a think about some of my suggestions. I would like to say I'll see you at your next gig, but the last one was so loud that it aggravated my irritable bowel sydrome and I shat myself. It's probably best that I give the next one a miss.

Sincerely,

Frank Serpico

Yeah, maybe when they had the previous guitarist, a lad called Phil, they could've done a few things like this coz he was such a big headed showoff he woulda loved all that flashy stuff.

But the four remaining guys are such professionals that they don't need gimicks to improve their already impressive stage presence.

But thanks for the input, my friend.

EDIT - I've been told that this may be taken out of context too easily. It was meant in good humour and definitely not meant as a diatribe against Phil (a good lad and a damn good guitarist & vocalist). No offence was meant to anyone...

I have my suspicions that El Diablo is Phil, if you hadn't already worked that out. Despite the fact that he is trying to prove otherwise, and throw me off the scent, I still believe it to be him.
